Marvel Studios was reportedly considering Shia LaBeouf for a superhero role in an upcoming project before being issued a lawsuit for sexual battery and assault.
Shia LaBeouf has notoriously struggled in the past from staying out of the spotlight negatively. The actor was recently on the rebound after turning in two critically acclaimed performances last year in Peanut Butter Falcon and Honey Boy, with the latter seeing him portray his real-life father. However, LaBeouf is in hot water once again after his former girlfriend, FKA twigs, recently filed a lawsuit for sexual battery and assault.
Before Oscar Isaac was cast as Moon Knight for the Disney Plus series, Shia LaBeouf was a favorite to take on the role. Variety is now reporting that Marvel Studios was considering LaBeouf for a superhero role based on murmurings as recent as this summer, but apparently, a meeting and further discussions never took place. LaBeouf was also turned down by Warner Bros. for a role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, but he did appear in Keanu Reeves’ Constantine back in 2005.

Here is the official synopsis for Marvel Studios’ next project, WandaVision:
Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role. Kevin Feige has said that the series will lead into the feature film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
