Mike Colter recently confirmed that he has not spoken to Marvel Studios about a possible return as Luke Cage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to be a multiverse of madness before the aptly-titled Doctor Strange sequel comes out due to all the recent casting news. The next Spider-Man film is set to include Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, and plenty of rumors that we will also see the return of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and other familiar faces from Marvel’s live-action past. Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is also rumored to appear, which has opened up the possibilities of other Netflix heroes like Mike Colter’s Luke Cage returning to action.
The rights to the characters from the Netflix shows recently reverted back to Marvel Studios, which gives them the option to bring the actors back as the heroes in the future. During an interview with ComingSoon.net, Mike Colter revealed that he has not had any conversations with Marvel Studios about a possible Luke Cage return:
“I got to say, I rarely think about it in the sense of what could be or will be, I know fans are eager to see something with the character. I know I established him and it was an honor to do that, but I don’t know what the future holds, I’m just in my mode of doing Evil right now and a few films on hiatus. If something happens, I’d love to have a conversation with them, but for now I’m not holding my breath, I’m happy either way, it was a good run.”
