SpaceX won”rural” FCC Financing in Unexpected places, Such as Important airports

Even the Federal Communications Commission last week granted $9.2 billion into 180 broadband suppliers, stating the money will deliver Internet access to 5.2 million”unserved” houses and businesses in rural regions across the USA. But consumer advocates say they have found significant issues from the FCC’s financing options, like sending money to rich urban regions which are adjacent to high-profile networks. SpaceX is one of the largest beneficiaries of the financing decisions which have attracted criticism.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is currently”subsidiz[ing] broadband to its wealthy,” based on the name of an evaluation a week from Derek Turner, study manager at advocacy group Free Press. Turner has a powerful track record assessing FCC broadband information, and past year found significant mistakes from Pai’s broadband-deployment asserts .
