Former Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts star Johnny Depp takes on the Joker make-up to take down Robert Pattinson’s young Batman.
Johnny Depp has been on the minds of DC fans for years. Back when Christopher Nolan was still developing The Dark Knight Trilogy, many pegged Depp as the perfect Riddler. While The Dark Knight Trilogy never featured the Riddler, Robert Pattinson’s The Batman will see the villain return to the big screen with actor Paul Dano. The Riddler role might be taken, but it’s rumored that Joker will appear in The Batman trilogy at some point and many were hoping for Depp.
Warner Bros. recently fired Johnny Depp off the Fantastic Beasts franchise after losing a libel case against The Sun. It now seems unlikely that Depp will get a chance to play the Joker in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman trilogy, but digital artist Jakub Maslowski has imagined what that might look like as the Clown Prince of Crime in an alternate universe:
Do you think we will ever see Johnny Depp join a comic book film? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
The plot of The Batman is being kept under lock and key, but we know the film will follow Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his second year as Gotham City’s Caped Crusader. The Batman will also show off the hero using his skills as a detective more than what we’ve seen before in previous versions of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment in a new trilogy of films starring Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, Robert Pattinson stars as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The Batman is currently set to open in theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Joe Manganiello, Deathstroke, Ben Affleck, and The Batman, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more video content.
