The Republican-controlled US Senate today supported a Trump nominee to the Federal Communications Commission, ensuring that President-elect Joe Biden’s FCC is going to likely be deadlocked at 2-2 upon his own inauguration.

The Senate voted along party lines to validate Nathan Simington, a Trump government official who helped draft a request {} the FCC to allow it to be simpler to sue social networking firms such as Facebook and Twitter. Democrats say he’s unqualified for the situation.
