4 Princess Diana Outfit Formulas That Influencers Are Still Wearing Today

Since the season four premiere of The Crown, the world’s fascination with Princess Diana’s style has undoubtedly been reignited. From the rise of Instagram accounts like @ladydirevengelooks to staggering statistics presented by LikeToKnowIt, it is obvious that Princess Diana’s status as a style icon is as strong as ever.

Even anecdotally, it seems that everywhere we look stylish women are emulating Diana’s style (whether consciously or not). From her much-photographed athletic looks of bike shorts and oversized sweatshirts to her casual attire of jeans, blazers and knee-high boots, Diana’s most-famous outfit formulas seem to be on high-rotation for influencers right now.

Some are even going as far as to recreate her outfits down to the exact pieces. Recently, American label Rowing Blazers released a series of Princess Diana-inspired knitwear, featuring the reissue of two of her most iconic pieces, the red sheep sweater and the “I’m a luxury jumper.” Of course, it didn’t take long for the style set to jump at the chance of owning a Diana-inspired original, and so the items have been gracing our feeds ever since.  From boxy blazers and baseball caps to bike shorts and statement sweaters, keep scrolling to see how influencers are recreating some of Diana’s most memorable outfits.

Style Notes: Our very own US assistant market editor, Yusra Siddiqui is one of the fashionable women we’ve seen dressing like Diana. Here she emulates Lady Di’s polo look featuring an oversize jacket, boots tucked into straight-leg jeans, and the iconic baseball cap.

Style Notes: Diana wore this now-iconic sheep jumper on more than one occasion. Since Rowing Blazers reissued the style, we’ve spotted it on Lucy Williams, Mecca James-Williams and more.

Style Notes: Princess Diana may have just been the first #athleisuire influencer. The royal’s gym looks feel very 2020, particularly thanks to the oversize sweatshirts, bike shorts and chunky trainers.

Style Notes: While it’s difficult to get your hands on an original image of Lady Di wearing this look, this jumper was one of her sassier sartorial choices. On the front this jumper says, “I’m a luxury…” and on the back it continues, “few can afford.”
