Google fought on Thursday to restrict the fallout in the passing of a top rated artificial intelligence researcher following the online team blocked the publication of a newspaper on a significant AI integrity dilemma.
Timnit Gebru, who’d been co-head of all AI integrity in Google, according to Twitter she was terminated after the newspaper was reversed.
Jeff Dean, Google’s head of AI, defended the choice within an email to employees on Thursday, stating the paper”did not satisfy our pub for book.” In addition, he explained Ms. Gebru’s death for a resignation in reaction to Google’s refusal to concede to unspecified states she had place to remain in the business.
