The first set of photos from Hawkeye‘s New York City shoot might have confirmed a rumored detail about Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton in the Disney Plus series.
As Marvel Studios shows like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision wrap up filming, other shows are starting to begin. On Tuesday, the first set video from Hawkeye was revealed and featured the first look at Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop alongside Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton. In the set video, Hawkeye and Kate Bishop were also accompanied by Lucky the Pizza Dog, a companion from the comics.
The first look at Kate Bishop and Pizza Dog wasn’t the only thing revealed in the Hawkeye images revealed from the set. It was previously reported that Clint Barton would lose his hearing in the Disney Plus series, which is another element borrowed from Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run in the comics. A new set photo seems to confirm the impairment plot point as Jeremy Renner is seen with a hearing aid. You can check out the Hawkeye set photo for yourself below.

Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye was last seen in Avengers: Endgame, where the bombing in that film could be responsible for his hearing impairment in the upcoming Disney Plus series. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Hawkeye is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in Fall 2021.
