Google’s activities amid office organizing attempts, for instance, high profile firings of many workers, were prohibited offenses of the National Labor Relations Act, federal officials said this past week.
The National Labor Relations Board filed a formal complaint (PDF) contrary to Google Wednesday, alleging the firm was”interfering with, restraining, and coercing employees” to hinder their secure joint action –office organization rights which are protected by legislation.
Google fired a few distinct employees late last year amid apparent attempts to arrange company workers. Four former workers who were let go last November–Laurence Berland, Paul Duke, Rebecca Rivers, along with Sophie Waldman–registered complaints using the NLRB nearly a year ago alleging that Google’s”draconian, pernicious, and criminal behavior” was a criminal effort to reduce office organizing.
