In reality, their shooting was meant to quell workplace activism via intimidation, based on Laurie Burgess, the NLRB attorney handling the situation.
The workers were among many who’d chased Google over workplace problems such as the hiring of union-busting company IRI Consultants and contracts using U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The board will look for out the reinstatement of those 2 workers together with compensation for them. An administrative judge will decide the outcome.
Google reacted to the projected criticism by stating it stands by its own activities and it takes”data security very seriously”
“We are confident in our choice and legal standing,” the organization explained in an announcement. “Actions undertaken with the workers at issue have been a severe breach of our policies and also the improper breach of a reliable responsibility.”
The information is as Google grapples with workers who have spoken out from direction, for example its handling of sexual misconduct in addition to devoting work on a search engine for China. In 2018, tens of thousands of Google staffers moved into the unprecedented period of staging a walkout to protest using mediation from sexual misconduct cases.
“Just over one year ago, Google dismissed me{} I lacked information entry policies, though the calendars and documents in question were reachable by any worker,” Berland tweeted. “My colleagues and friends knew that it was bullshit, and that is what matters.”
