It’s been revealed that Wonder Woman 1984 will be the first film to get a 4K Ultra HD release on HBO Max when it arrives later this month.
After WarnerMedia made the huge decision to simultaneously release Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max and in theaters later this month, the company has also revealed that the film will get a 4K Ultra HD release on the platform. It will also be available in HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It’s been a long journey for Diana Prince’s sequel to finally see the light of day and the shift to streaming came after Warner Bros. were reportedly worried it would get stale if it was pushed into 2021.
Being available on a number of formats on HBO Max means the film will be delivered with the best sound and picture available for audiences at home. Director Patty Jenkins took to Twitter to celebrate the news, she had recently cast doubt over whether the film would make its December 25 release date, but it seems like she’s excited for fans to finally witness the action-packed sequel. Take a look at the Wonder Woman 1984 director’s reaction to the HBO Max news below.
