Black Panther 2 will reportedly begin filming in July with Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta also in talks to play the antagonist.
The unfortunate passing of Chadwick Boseman has raised a lot of questions in regards to what Black Panther’s role might be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. Recent rumors have inevitably come up with some suggesting a digital double of Boseman could be used. Those rumors have been dismissed by Marvel Studios, but the question remains as to how the Black Panther series will continue.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Panther 2 was originally scheduled for a March 2021 shoot, but it has now been pushed back to July in the Marvel film production hub of Atlanta. Letitia Wright’s Shuri might also be taking on the Black Panther mantle with the report also stating that she might have a “more prominent role” in the sequel. As Black Panther 2 gears up for production, Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta is also in talks to play the villain in the sequel.
