WandaVision executive producer Mary Livanos goes into what we can expect in Marvel Studios’ first venture into television on Disney Plus.
It’s hard to believe that Marvel Studios is heading into uncharted territory, but that’s exactly what they are doing with Disney Plus’ WandaVisison. While we’ve had plenty of Marvel shows over the years on ABC, Netflix, Hulu, and Freeform— WandaVision will be the first time we see a show headed by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios.
Entertainment Weekly recently shared a new cover featuring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany along with some new details on the upcoming Disney Plus series. We know WandaVision and the other MCU shows will spare no expense with their budgets and executive producer Mary Livanos gives us an idea of how big Marvel Studios is going:
“It’s really incredible to be able to tell a long-form story the way the comics did. In a sense, [a TV show] is a multi-issue comic-book run, which is something that, from the Marvel development side, we totally do understand. I was like, ‘Oh, I thought we were doing a little show,’ but no, it’s six Marvel movies packed into what they’re presenting as a sitcom.”

Here is the official synopsis for WandaVision:
Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that the series will lead into the feature film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
