After decades of developing political pressure to get antitrust evaluation of big technology businesses, this past month Congress and the US administration sent. The House Antitrust Subcommittee published a report on Apple, Amazon, Google, along with Facebook of monopolistic behaviour. The Department of Justice registered a complaint from Google alleging the business prevents users by sampling other search engines.
The newest fervor for technology antitrust has up to now missed an equally apparent goal: US broadband suppliers. “If you would like to chat about a report on utilizing gatekeeper ability to damage competitors, you will find few better illustrations,” says Gigi Sohn, a fellow in the Georgetown Law Institute for Technology Law & Policy.
