A piece of concept art from The Mandalorian reveals an early design for Din Djarin’s armor that he wore at the beginning of season one before upgrading to beskar steel.
The long-awaited season two premiere of The Mandalorian will be made available on Disney Plus in a few hours. Season one was the first time audiences were treated to a live-action Star Wars show which launched the adventures of Din Djarin and his intergalactic babysitting of The Child. Jon Favreau and co. took some liberties with the medium by sticking to some classic Star Wars tropes and visuals, but also added their own sensibilities.
The Mandalorian‘s end credits, for example, feature various pieces of concept art that were done for each particular episode. All the concepts will be made available in an upcoming art book coming later this year, but artist Brian Matyas shared a piece of his on Instagram to commemorate the start of season two on Friday. The concept art features an early armor design for Din Djarin that is a bit sleeker and doesn’t feature a cape. You can check out the concept art of Din Djarin’s armor below.
