The next Power Rangers movie has found its writer in Bryan Edward Hill.
Deadline reports that Bryan Edward Hill has signed on to write Jonathan Entwistle’s Power Rangers movie for eOne and Hasbro. Entwistle is overseeing the next phase of Power Rangers film and television adaptations for the two companies with the goal of creating an interconnected universe bridging multiple platforms.
The Power Rangers were last seen on the big screen in 2017. The film, which was produced by Lionsgate back when the the rights to the franchise still belonged to Saban, featured Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler and Becky G. It underperformed at the worldwide box office, grossing $142.3 million against a $105 million budget.

SABAN’S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Directed by Dean Israelite, the film stars Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G, Ludi Lin, and Elizabeth Banks. The film is now available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
