A new concept design sees Ben Affleck’s Batman take on Jared Leto’s Joker in Justice League ahead of the film’s release on HBO Max next year.
After the recent news that Jared Leto is returning for additional filming on Justice League, a new design pictures the villain facing off against Ben Affleck’s Batman in an eerie scene. Leto isn’t the only actor from the DC Extended Universe returning to the film, with Aquaman star Amber Heard also involved in the reshoots. DC fans were originally disappointed that the DCEU didn’t pit Ben Affleck and Jared Leto against each other in a film since Batman and the Joker are synonymous with each other. But this latest design imagines what that stand-off could look like.
The Justice League art comes from ‘mizuriau’ on Instagram and uses a still of Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad put together with an intimidating shot of Ben Affleck’s Batman as they stand on opposite sides of a murky room. Although the response to Leto’s performance was divided, it’s hard to deny that this scene would be fascinating to see. Since the history between the hero and the Clown Prince of Crime was only teased in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans were left making up their own theories about the dead Robin whose suit Bruce Wayne kept in the Batcave. Take a look at the design below.
