Natalie Portman continues to tease Thor: Love and Thunder as the upcoming film gears up for principal photography in Australia soon.
One of the biggest announcements during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel a year ago was Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster in the next Thor film. Since then, we’ve gotten a few more details on Thor: Love and Thunder such as former Batman actor Christian Bale joining the film in an unknown role.
Director Taika Waititi also revealed during the Thor: Love and Thunder panel at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 that Natalie Portman will become the Mighty Thor and the actress recently teased the film will follow the Jane Foster cancer storyline from the comics as well. Portman is now in Australia prepping for Thor: Love and Thunder with filming expected to begin early next year. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Portman teased the Thor sequel’s tone and opened up about her training for the Marvel film:
“It’s going to be really silly and funny, and great. We’ve got Taika Waititi… He’s wonderful, so I’m very excited to just be with all of them. I’ve had like months of pandemic, you know, eating baked goods and lying in bed and feeling sorry for myself. I’m super tired after working out, and during, and dreading before.”

Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale.
