A new book exploring the Marvel Cinematic Universe reveals why Iron Man built the Iron Spider suit for Spider-Man before Avengers: Infinity War.
Since his MCU debut back in 2016, Spider-Man has already donned a number of different versions of his iconic red and blue costume thanks to being taken under Iron Man’s wing in Captain America: Civil War. Now that filming on Spider-Man 3 is underway, it wouldn’t be surprising if Peter Parker gets yet another costume for his third outing in the MCU. But a new book reveals the inspiration behind the impressive Iron Spider costume that Tony Stark built for the young hero.
The Wakanda Files explores the MCU through the eyes of a researcher working for Black Panther’s Shuri. It reveals that Iron Man began building the Iron Spider costume immediately after the Berlin fight with Captain America, when he was researching nanoparticles. First, Stark upgraded the Wall-Crawler’s web-shooters and redesigned them to create their own web fluid before adding a life-support system in his costume – which would definitely come in handy for Avengers: Infinity War. The hero was also given an upgraded Heads Up Display (HUD) from his initial Stark Suit.
What do you think of the reason behind Iron Man creating the new suit for Peter Parker? Do you like the Iron Spider costume or do you prefer Spider-Man’s classic look? Sound-off in the comments below!
