Adam Brody says Shazam!: Fury of the Gods will feature action scenes involving the entire family like the crowd-pleasing finale of the first film.
The first Shazam! film was definitely a fun, family adventure – but the wholesome twist at the end which saw all the kids getting their own superpowers was a welcome surprise. Most recently director David F. Sandberg revealed the first film changed the actor behind one of the characters after test screenings left audiences confused. However in a new interview Adam Brody revealed that Shazam!: Fury of the Gods will feature more of the family in actionl
While speaking to ScreenRant about his new film, Kid Detective, Adam Brody confirmed the family will suit up with their superpowers once again. He explained that Shazam!: Fury of the Gods will have moments of danger but also won’t move away from the fun comedy that went hand-in-hand with the first film. Take a look at Adam Brody talking about the sequel below.
“I’m sure there’ll be moments of real peril that you take seriously as well, but leaning into the comedy and leaning into the goofiness and the wish fulfillment of it all is a pretty natural and joyful experience.”
What did you think of the Shazam! Family fight scene at the end of the first film? Are you glad they’ll be back for more in the sequel? Sound-off in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for Shazam!:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.
Directed by David F Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Shazam!: Fury of the Gods and Adam Brody, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
