David Ayer revealed on Twitter that he recently watched his Suicide Squad cut since it was “abandoned” and the director called it “f***cking amazing.”
After Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut was given the go-ahead to debut on HBO Max some time next year, a portion of DC fans have since turned their attentions to David Ayer’s Suicide Squad – which was infamously recut and shaped to closer match the tone of another popular superhero film at the time, Deadpool. But the director recently took to Twitter to explain why he abandoned the original cut and revealed his honest thoughts of the supervillain team-up movie.
While the Suicide Squad director also revealed the original look for Enchantress in the film, he told fans on Twitter that he felt guilty for years after the film debuted – but has since changed his mind. He explained that it’s the tone of the impressive Comic-Con trailer which initially got fans excited for the film’s 2016 release. Ayer revealed that he also recently watched the cut and from his reaction, clearly he’s very happy with it. Take a look below.
I took the hits like a good soldier when the studio cut hit the streets. It’s who I am.
I watched my cut for the first time since it was abandoned.
It is f*cking amazing. On God.I felt guilty for years like I f*cked. Nope. It’s fire. It’s the tone of the Comicon trailer 100% https://t.co/sFlFiGW5yN
