It star Bill Skarsgard looks incredibly menacing as a potential candidate for the next Joker who may face Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in The Batman trilogy from Matt Reeves.
The Batman will see Robert Pattinson’s young Bruce Wayne encounter several notable villains like Carmine Falcone, Catwoman, Penguin, and the Riddler. It appears director Matt Reeves is already planting the seeds for Pattinson’s Batman to have a sprawling rogues’ gallery with the three films he has planned at the moment. However, no rogues’ gallery for the Batman is complete without his greatest foe: Joker.
There have been plenty of rumors that Robert Pattinson will not come to blows with a Joker until the third film of The Batman trilogy. While we just got an award-winning turn from Joaquin Phoenix in the solo Joker film, DC doesn’t seem to be shying away from reinterpreting the character so close to other versions. Bill Skarsgard has a history playing creepy clowns and many fans see him as a good fit as the Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe. It’s unclear if we are close to seeing another Joker on the big screen again, but this amazing fan art from digital artist William Gray makes the case for Skarsgard as the next Clown Prince of Crime.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under wraps, but we know that the project will revolve around Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment to a new Batman trilogy with Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
