We have understood Google’s nine-year-old music support was about the exit , yet this week Google has begun to really shut down portions of its own cloud music support in the hopes of forcing visitors to YouTube Music.
The slow shutdown began on Monday with the passing of this Google Play Music Store, which formerly allow you to buy music for download and playback, instead of the all-you-can-eat rental providers which dominate the audio landscape now. Google’s Music shop was part of this Google Play Store, that {} shows a message stating the feature was taken away. Google is getting from this business of selling songs completely and now only provides a rental agency via YouTube Music.
Another major feature shutdown is audio playback Google Home and Nest Audio speakers. Though the Google Music program still works and you’re able to initiate a playback via Chromecast, you are not able to begin songs by voice via Google Assistant apparatus. When you dig in the Google Assistant configurations (which means launching the Google program in your telephone, then hitting on”Moreimportantly,” then”Preferences,” then”Google Assistant,””Services”, and then lastly”Music”) you will discover that the”Google Play Music” alternative has completely vanished. The only supported providers for voice orders will be YouTube Music, Pandora, Deezer, and Spotify.
