Deathstroke actor Joe Manganiello hopes to see the original Justice League post-credits scene in the Zack Snyder Cut.
The post-credits scene of Justice League featured the DC Extended Universe debut of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke, with the villain meeting up with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor to discuss the formation of a supervillain team. However, Manganiello recently teased the film’s original scene on one of his social media pages.
During a recent interview with Collider, Joe Manganiello was asked if he’s shooting additional scenes for the Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League, which is coming to HBO Max. While he wouldn’t confirm or deny that, Manganiello did talk about one scene he hopes is restored in the new version of the movie:
“If I was a part of it, it wouldn’t be my place to announce that. That would be Zack [Snyder]’s place. Whether or not that’s happening. That is an answer that’s below my NDA level… On my social media, I talked about [how] there was an original end credits sequence that was altered for the release of Justice League. Once Batman was cancelled, they altered that scene. So, here you go, but I wrote about that on my social media. There’s an original scene that will be restored to what it was originally.”
Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke was originally the main villain of The Batman, but that changed after Ben Affleck exited the project and handed it over to Matt Reeves. Since then, Manganiello’s future as Deathstroke has been uncertain.
Zack Snyder is bringing back some of the members of the Justice League cast for the reshoots. Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher are expected to return for the new scenes, but Superman actor Henry Cavill recently said that he won’t be shooting new material for the superhero team-up movie.
Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
