After covering Waymo for many decades, I have learned to select the corporation’s statements using a grain of salt.
In 2018, by way of instance, Waymo said that it might establish a completely driverless business service at the end of the year. Waymo did launch an agency named Waymo One in December 2018, however, it arrived with two or three enormous asterisks: each automobile had a security motorist, and the ceremony was {} to a little group of individuals.
But now Waymo eventually appears to be starting the cab service it maintained two decades ago: one that is entirely driverless and open to the general public. Waymo informs Ars the agency will initially operate within an 50-square-mile region at the Phoenix suburbs of Chandler, Tempe, and Mesa.
