Team Joe Sings, a concert series from the team behind Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and VP nominee Kamala Harris’ 2020 campaign, unveiled its second batch of artists on Thursday (Sept. 24).
Matt Berninger (of The National), Chloe x Halle, X Ambassadors, Andrew Bird, JP Saxe, Jonathan Facka, Alfred Howard, Aniello, and Susan Werner performed two songs virtually in support of the Biden for President campaign. Performances are uploaded onto the acts’ respective YouTube channels at 8 p.m. ET every Thursday until the Nov. 3 election.
The group follows last week’s performances by Kesha, Anthony Hamilton, Los Lobos, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, Harlem Gospel Travelers and MisterWives.
“We need change and we need it now. Our current president has proven over and over that he lacks basic empathy and honesty,” Kesha said in a press statement. “I love this country and I think we deserve better. In our Declaration of Independence it says ‘all men are created equal’ it was a nice start, but now we know we need to give all people equal rights, protection, and opportunity no matter what they look like or who they love. I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can help us win this fight for equality.”
