Christmas starts early this year, thanks to Carrie Underwood.
The country queen drops My Gift, an early yuletide present featuring 10 holiday classics and an original, “Let There Be Peace,” which arrived early (on Aug. 28).
John Legend guests on the track “Hallelujah,” and Isaiah Fisher assists on “Little Drummer Boy.”
Produced by Greg Wells, My Gift is Carrie Underwood’s first Christmas LP.
“I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album and it’s been a long time coming,” she said when the album was announced in recent weeks. “For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters.”
Earlier in the week, Underwood was nominated for two CMT Music Awards. She already has 20 CMTs, more than any other artist.
