Talking to Congress now, the prior Facebook supervisor tasked with creating the firm make money didn’t mince words regarding his function. Tim Kendall, that served as manager of monetization to Facebook by 2006 through 2010, talked to Congress now as part of a House Commerce subcommittee hearing analyzing how social networking platforms promote the mainstreaming of both extremist and radicalizing content.

“The social networking services which others and I have assembled over the last 15 years have served to rip people apart with alarming rate and durability,” Kendall stated in his opening testimony (PDF). “In the minimum, we’ve eroded our collective comprehension at worst, but I fear we’re pushing ourselves on the verge of a civil war”
