Alicia Keys brought out special guest Bebe Rexha Wednesday night (Sept. 23) to perform “Gramercy Park” for The Late Late Show with James Corden drive-in concert at Television City.
The track from her new eponymous album ALICIA takes a stroll down memory lane of all the times Keys has appeased the people in her life while eventually finding her way back to her true self. “Sometimes you lose yourself. Here’s to finding yourself again,” she said while playing the beginning piano chords of the ballad.
Fellow New Yorker Rexha, who’s not originally featured on the ALICIA track, took reign of the second verse before harmonizing and humming along with Keys and eventually being applauded with a rousing chorus of honking cars.
But if the “Meant To Be” pop star was her special ingredient, then ranking the singing voices of her former fellow judges on The Voice was Keys’ way out of drinking a spicy salmon smoothie.
“Gwen Stefani is best, Adam Levine is second, and Blake Shelton is the worst,” she declared while noting Shelton was the only judge who didn’t have her phone number.
