The Halloween season is nearly upon usso brace yourselves for the yearly onslaught of terror fare. But we are also becoming a fantastic conservative spooky ghost tale with all the Netflix show, The Haunting of Bly Manor, loosely according to The Turn of the Screw and integrating other ghost tales by Henry James. The very first teaser fell before this season, and the streaming system has published the entire trailer.

We adored Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy’s inventive reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s timeless book, in a Gothic ghost story and a deep examination of erectile dysfunction. It remained true to the tone and soul of the first, aided by dialog, narration, and other modest details in the source material. Little wonder it gained award nominations in the Motion Picture Sound Editors, Writers Guild of America, along with Art Directors Guild.
