Allison Jones rises to executive VP, A&R at Big Machine Label Group (BMLG), where she will continue to lead the music company’s A&R activities across its roster, which includes Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts, Midland and Carly Pearce.
Jones is “one of those extremely rare A&R executives who just knows when it comes to great artists and great songs. Our success together has left an indelible mark on this era of country music,” comments BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta in a statement.
“She continually blows my mind at her knowledge of what’s going on in the marketplace, where the great songs and songwriters are and what new artists are circling,” he continues. “It’s extremely rare that I can bring up a new song or new artist that she doesn’t already know about. Thank you Allison. Nobody better.”
Jones joined the country-leaning label more than a decade ago, and most recently served as senior VP A&R.
Previously, she worked in A&R at Universal Nashville as the Vice President, A&R, and with Dreamworks Nashville, Giant Records and BNA Records/RCA.
Also, Jones has been recognized in Billboard’s Women In Music and Country Power Players lists.
“I’ve worked with Scott since 1997 when we were part of the original team to open Dreamworks Nashville,” Jones recounts, “and I’m beyond grateful that he asked me to join his history-making Big Machine team twelve years ago.”
Jones’ elevation follows Scooter Braun’s blockbuster 2019 acquisition of BMLG, in a deal reportedly to be worth upwards of $300 million.
