BTS Gearing Up For Week-Long ‘Tonight Show’ Takeover

BTS are gearing up for a week-long takeover of The Tonight Show that will have them performing, chatting and playing games during the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

“BTS Week” will feature a unique performance every night, including, of course, a blitz through their chart-topping hit “Dynamite,” as well as skits with host Jimmy Fallon and a virtual interview, according to a release announcing the late night residency.

The band will be the lead guests on the night of Sept 30. “We love having BTS on the show. These guys are incredible, and you just know they’re going to go above and beyond to make their performance unforgettable,” Fallon said in the statement. “Last time we had them on we took over Grand Central Terminal, so we had our work cut out for us to top that. And what’s better than one night with BTS … a full week!”

The last time BTS were on the Tonight Show, they did a takeover of a number of iconic New York landmarks, including Grand Central Station, the NYC subway and Katz’s Deli.

Meanwhile, the group will also deliver a special “message of hope” at 9:00 a.m. ET at the United Nations General Assembly meeting on Wednesday (Sept. 23). It will mark the second time in two years that BTS — who began working with UNICEF in 2017 with the “Love Myself” campaign targeting violence against young people — will appear before the General Assembly.
