Even the long-rumored (and lately leaked) Oculus Quest 2 is in my house, in my head. I got it earlier this month, together with information that this could be Oculus’s lowest priced”all-purpose” VR program nonetheless: beginning at $299 and coming on October 16.
That is 1 hell of a cost for cutting edge VR. However, it comes at a price.
Part of this comes in Facebook’s competitive policy about earning Facebook social media reports (whose terms of support revolve about a”name” coverage ) required to use fresh Oculus VR headphones, such as the Quest two . Allow me to be blunt: that’s a dreadful notion. Addition of a social networking account and its own large Internet of personally identifying information (as gathered by everything from support log-ins to ordinary Web-browsing biscuits ) to calculating hardware (VR headsets, telephones, computers, and TVs, etc) is quite honestly a rash transfer on Facebook’s part.
