Qi’ra actress Emilia Clarke recently commented on her Solo: A Star Wars Story character’s return in the War of the Bounty Hunters comic book event.
Marvel’s War of the Bounty Hunters is the big comic book crossover event happening in Star Wars at the moment. The comics will bridge the gap between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi by following Boba Fett after losing a carbonated Han Solo on his way to deliver him to Jabba the Hutt.
The first issue from Charles Soule revealed at the end that it was Qi’ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story who stole Han Solo from Boba Fett. Solo has become a cult classic in the Star Wars community, with many fans campaigning for a sequel. While a sequel may not be on the horizon, it looks like War of the Bounty Hunters will be the next best thing. ComicBook.com recently asked Qi’ra actress Emilia Clake about the character’s resurgence in the comic books:
“It means so much. It means the absolute world. I know her backstory. I know her history. Maybe the movie didn’t get to go there, but that was such an honor and a privilege to be part of that universe as an actor. So then, to see the character actually be taken on to the origin of all of it — bringing it on home to the family in that way — cemented it in a way. I was not expecting to feel as moved as I was by that.”
Do you hope Emilia Clarke returns as Qi’ra in the future? Do you plan on following War of the Bounty Hunters? Sound-off in the comments section below!
