Gal Gadot’s ‘Wonder Woman 3’ Receives Disappointing Update

Gal Gadot’s upcoming Wonder Woman 3 won’t begin shooting until 2023.

The DC Extended Universe is expanding with the likes of The Batman, The Flash, and Black Adam, but the one project we’re looking forward to the most is Patty Jenkins’ sequel to Wonder Woman 3. Officially confirmed at this year’s DC FanDome, the upcoming film is in the early stages of production, but it looks like Gal Gadot won’t return as the Amazonian warrior until 2023. Why? Scheduling issues.

In an update on the Cleopatra movie starring Gal Gadot, Deadline’s Justin Kroll revealed that Patty Jenkins is no longer attached to direct the historical epic. Instead, Jenkins will join the film as a producer. While this frees up the director’s schedule, Gadot’s is still packed. In 2022, Gadot will be filming her scenes as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White.

One thing regarding Patty, while sources say Jenkins is expected to focus on development of WW3 now that she isn’t directing this, shooting is not expected to start till 2023 on WW3 at earliest given Gadot’s busy shooting schedule in 2022 that includes SNOW WHITE https://t.co/5s7Nk9iDMa

Patty Jenkins’ schedule seems to have freed up considerably considering her Star Wars film Rogue Squadron appears to have been delayed indefinitely. It remains to be seen when Wonder Woman 3 officially begins production as word from Warner Bros. hasn’t come yet.

Here is the synopsis for Wonder Woman 1984:

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the next chapter in the story, which finds Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) living and working among mortals, remaining selfless in a vibrant era of excess and “having it all.” But her own values are challenged as she reunites with a lost love while stepping into the spotlight to help humanity escape a dangerous world of its own making. Also starring Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.

Wonder Woman 1984 is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the Wonder Woman franchise as we learn it and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
