Dwayne Johnson leads the team as Krypto the Superdog in the first trailer for Warner Bros’ upcoming animated film, DC League of Super-Pets.
Dwayne Johnson’s long-awaited Black Adam film is still a ways off but the actor has at least one other superhero role to keep us tied over. That role will be playing Superman’s dog, Krypto the Superdog in DC League of Super-Pets. In the various comics, Krypto is typically portrayed as Superman’s dog and another being who survived Krypton’s explosion with similar powers to the Man of Steel.
In May it was revealed that Dwayne Johnson would be voicing Krypto the Superdog in DC League Of Super-Pets. Later that summer, Keanu Reeves and Kevin Hart joined the film as well. Earlier today the first trailer for the film was released, showing Dwayne Johnson’s Krypto attempting to lead a group of animal heroes:
Here’s the synopsis for DC League of Super-Pets:
In “DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.
Directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine, DC League of Super-Pets features the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson, John Krasinski, Kevin Heart, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Marc Maron, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves. The film is currently set to be released on May 20, 2022.
