‘Spider-Man’ Producer Amy Pascal Won’t Make Films Without Tom Holland

Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal has stated that she is not interested in making more live-action films in the franchise without Tom Holland.

After the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, a rift occurred between Disney and Sony. Specifically, the contract between the two companies that allowed Spider-Man to exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe had expired and Disney wanted to renegotiate it so they could take a bigger chunk of the profit. This didn’t happen and the various contracts were renegotiated to include at least one more film which could very well be the last.

As of this writing, it’s not entirely clear what’s in the future for Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man. The actor has previously cast doubt on his potential future as the web-slinger and even suggested that the character Miles Morales should take over the role. Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, on the other hand, doesn’t seem interested in making live-action films in the franchise without him.

In a recent interview with GQ, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal spoke about potentially making more films without the actor in the role. She was quick to shoot down the idea:

“I’ve talked to him about doing, like, 100 more. I’m never going to make Spider-Man movies without him. Are you kidding me?”

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is umasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina.
