‘The Flash’ Director Shares Cryptic Batman Teaser Image Ahead Of DC FanDome

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has shared a new Batman-related teaser for the movie ahead of its DC FanDome panel.

Yesterday, DC Comics fans took to social media to celebrate this year’s Batman Day with posts honoring the comic book hero. This morning, Andy Muschietti joined in on the fun by dropping a Batman-related image of his own on Instagram, showing the iconic Michael Keaton Batsuit with the red and gold color scheme of The Flash. Check it out below.

Fans have pointed out that the red and gold Batman suit bears a striking resemblance to the one worn by the DC Comics villain Red Death. Introduced in DC’s Metal event from Scott Snyder, Red Death is a villainous version of Batman from the Dark Multiverse. This specific version of Batman looked for new ways to fight crime and ended up absorbing Barry Allen’s Speed Force, which actually trapped the Scarlet Speedster’s consciousness inside of Bruce Wayne himself. There’s no indication that Red Death is set to make an appearance in The Flash.

Michael Keaton isn’t the only Batman that fans should expect to see in The Flash, as Justice League star Ben Affleck is also set to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader for the DC Films project. Affleck was reportedly very open to reprising the role after originally leaving the cape and cowl behind in January 2019. The relationship between Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen is said to be a key part of the upcoming movie.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
