‘The Flash’: Production Paused After Injury Involving Batman’s Batcycle

Production on the Glasgow set of The Flash has been paused after an accident involving Batman’s Batcycle injured a crew member.

The Flash made headlines earlier this week when they moved production over to the historical city of Glasgow, which is set to double as Gotham City. This last week saw the cast and crew filming a chase sequence that saw Batman riding his Batcycle. Production was going smoothly on the chase sequence until today when a camera operator was injured.

Glasgow Live reports that a camera operator was on a motorcycle shooting that Batcycle from behind. The operator’s motorcycle was going at a considerable speed when he crashed into the Batman stunt actor and went under the Batcycle. An eyewitness relayed to the outlet that crew members clapped when an ambulance left the scene, implying that the crew member was taken to the hospital. There are no official details and updates regarding the crew member’s health. Similarly, there is no official confirmation from Warner Bros. or director Andy Muschietti that production on The Flash has been suspended as of this writing.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, and Ron Livingston. The film will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline, which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on November 4, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the DCEU, Ezra Miller, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content!
