‘Loki’ Director Kate Herron On ‘WandaVision’ Connection Theory

Loki director Kate Herron has commented on a theory that directly connects to the WandaVision finale.

An increasingly popular fan theory from Loki suggests that Kang/He Who Remains is well aware that Wanda Maximoff is assuming the powers of the Scarlett Witch during the show’s finale. The last episode of Loki season one saw the multiverse opening up thanks to Sylvie killing He Who Remains. As he passes, he realizes that the wave of timelines are opening up. When played alongside the finale of WandaVision, both finales sync up and it appears that Kang is realizing the growing power that Wanda now holds. As Wanda is gaining her powers, he comments to Sylvie that the multiverse has begun to branch out.

The fan theory has blown up over the last week, with fans speculating how this direct comparison between the two shows ties into the larger plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with SUPES, Loki director Kate Herron was asked her thoughts on the theory and if there was some validity to it. However, like most theories, Herron confirmed that it was merely coincidental.

“Interesting. It was definitely coincidental on our side. We were in post [production] basically when WandaVision went on television, so I think it is probably coincidental. I wouldn’t want to shut down any theories though, it’s kind of fun.”
