Zack Snyder Cut Justice League DC Army of the Dead HBO Max Junkie XLWarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff confirmed there are no plans to continue Zack Snyder’s Justice League story following the Snyder Cut’s release on HBO Max.

Leading up to the Snyder Cut release, Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder have made it clear that there were no plans for the director’s take on the DC universe to continue. However, fan reaction has been pretty positive so far, not to mention Zack Snyder’s Justice League sets up a ton of what was originally in store for the future.

Despite all of that, WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff told Variety on Monday that Zack Snyder’s Justice League will mark the end of an era with the studio moving forward in a new direction:

“I appreciate that they love Zack’s work and we are very thankful for his many contributions to DC. We’re just so happy that he could bring his cut of the “Justice League” to life because that wasn’t in the plan until about a year ago. With that comes the completion of his trilogy. We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.”

Here is the official synopsis for the Snyder Cut:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
