Wallis Day Replaces Ruby Rose As Kate Kane On ‘Batwoman’

Wallis Day Batwoman Ruby RoseKrypton star Wallis Day has officially replaced Ruby Rose as Kate Kane in the Arrowverse on Batwoman.

Ruby Rose’s exit from Batwoman was a shock to fans of Kate Kane’s solo series in the Arrowverse, and although a truly worthy replacement was quickly found in Javicia Leslie, the season 2 story is still reeling from Kane’s disappearance. But it looks like Ryan Wilder might be able to save Kate after all – as it’s finally been revealed whether the character will come back, with Krypton star Wallis Day replacing Ruby Rose on Batwoman going forward.

In the latest episode, Wallis Day was revealed as the new Kate Kane – as the former Batwoman was wearing bandages over her face following a devastating plane crash, and she’s being held hostage in a basement somewhere in Gotham. The rest of season 2 will address where she’s been all this time, but it’s important to know that Day’s casting doesn’t mean Leslie will hang up the cape, Ryan Wilder will still be Batwoman. Wallis Day’s casting means Ruby Rose likely won’t return to the series, although she previously explained that she’d be happy to reprise her role at some point. Take a look at Day’s reaction to the reveal on Twitter below.

What do you make of Wallis Day’s casting? Are you excited to see Kate Kane return to Batwoman? Are you still disappointed over Ruby Rose’s exit? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for Javicia Leslie’s Batwoman season two:

Season two kicks off with a major game-changer that will alter Gotham and The Bat Team forever. As the dust settles, Batwoman has everything working against her – including the recently escaped rogues’ gallery of villains – and everyone will come to see her in a whole new light. Alice meets her match when she becomes entangled with a dangerous foe from her past who knows exactly how to prey on her vulnerabilities. As Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang) find their footing as sidekicks, a romance will shake up their dynamic. Meanwhile, Sophie (Megan Tandy) and Julia’s (guest star Christina Wolfe) budding relationship will face its first real test and make Sophie question everything she thought she knew to be true.
