Pfizer, Feds reach Price for Extra 100M COVID-19 vaccine Dosages

The national government has reached a deal with drugmaker Pfizer to procure an extra 100 million doses of this Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine prior to the end of July, the business said today.

Under the conditions of the new arrangement , the authorities will probably pay $1.95 billion to the extra doses. Of the newest vaccine dosages, 70 million have been expected by June 30, with the remaining 30 million to be sent no later than July 31. The arrangement also provides US authorities with the choice to order around 400 million extra doses of this vaccine after.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar explained in an announcement that the extra Pfizer vaccine”provides Americans more assurance that we’ll have sufficient source to vaccinate every American who needs this from June 2021,” when inserted into the 100 million doses the usa government has agreed to buy in Pfizer, in addition to the newly authorized Moderna vaccine.
