Natalie Desselle-Reid, a longtime comedic performer known for an assortment of unforgettable supporting characters in television and film, has died following a struggle with colon cancer. She was only 53 years old.

Based on TMZ, household members noted that Desselle-Reid — famous for her longstanding function in this Madea sitcom Eve, in addition to her memorable supporting turn from the 1997 Halle Berry movie B*A*P*S* — reacted to this illness Monday morning following a months-long struggle. She was diagnosed earlier this season, and was in hospice care in the right time of her departure, surrounded by family and nearest and dearest in her last days.
