In a quarter where its earnings are predicted to exceed $100 billion for the first time, Amazon claims it’ll invest $500m to a one-time Christmas bonus because of its low-income workers.

The cover bulge –that won’t be paid before January–comes amid plans for strike action within the Black Friday shopping weekend, along with growing demands for unionisation.

Dave Clark, the e commerce team’s head of operations, also on Thursday said fulltime employees employed in america in December 1 to December 31 will get $300. Part-time employees would receive $150.
