A new design sees Emilia Clarke replace Amber Heard as Mera for James Wan’s Aquaman 2 alongside Jason Momoa.
After the news arrived that Johnny Depp lost his libel case related to the abuse allegations made by his ex-wife Amber Heard, the star had to step away from his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Since Depp alleged that the Aquaman star was also physically and emotionally abusive towards him in their relationship, many fans have called for Amber Heard to leave her role as Mera in the DC Extended Universe. While it would probably be easier for Aquaman 2 to just jettison the character entirely, some suggested Emilia Clarke as Mera could be a way for the sequel to move forward.
Fan-favorite digital artist BossLogic took the idea and imagined what Emilia Clarke as Mera in Aquaman 2 could look like on the big-screen. It’s hard to deny that the former Game of Thrones star looks the part – as the new outfit the artist puts her in immediately gives the star a regal look. Clarke’s acting talents would definitely be a big win for the DCEU and Game of Thrones fans would undoubtedly be excited to see the star reunite with Jason Momoa.
