‘The Mandalorian’ Features Artistic Easter Egg From Original ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy

The Mandalorian Star Wars

The Mandalorian Star WarsAn Easter egg from the original Star Wars trilogy briefly appeared at the beginning of The Mandalorian season two premiere.

The Mandalorian has always been careful with its references to the wider Star Wars universe, but this latest Easter egg seemingly pays homage to one of the most iconic characters from the franchise. Although it’s not always the case, as Darth Maul voice actor Sam Witwer recently pointed out that he didn’t appear in the series after another outlet claimed he could be seen in the background of Mos Pelgo. This latest reference seems a little too specific not to be an Easter Egg.

During The Mandalorian‘s opening scenes in season two, the bounty hunter spotted the walls covered in anti-Empire graffiti. The art showed a number of Stormtrooper helmets crossed out with red x’s. But peeking out from behind an artistic Snowtrooper helmet seemed to be none other than C-3PO himself. His golden face and circular eyes seem too accurate not to be a version of the protocol droid. With other legendary Star Wars characters on the way this season, it seems likely there’ll be other notable Easter eggs in later episodes. Take a look at the C-3PO art below.
