Boughs of Dolly: The Nation Icon Could Star in & Create Christmas Picture For Netflix

Dolly Parton and Netflix are expanding their working connection.

The country music superstar may star in and produce a musical vacation picture for the streamer named Christmas around the Square. The film, which also stars Christine Baranski, Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams and Jeanine Mason and can be led by Debbie Allen (Grey’s Anatomy), is set to premiere Nov. 22.

The launch date for the film is precisely 1 year following Netflix surfaced Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, an anthology series according to Parton’s tunes. Among those eight installations, “These Old Testament,” made an Emmy nomination for excellent TV film earlier this season.

The It’s ’s {} Life-esque Christmas around the Square celebrities Christine Baranski (The great Fight) as Regina, a wealthy and nasty lady who yields to her small home after her dad’s passing to evict everybody and market the property to a mall programmer — before Christmas. But after listening to tales of the local townsfolk, reconnecting with the old love, and taking the advice of a genuine angel (Parton), Regina begins to really have a change of heart.

The cast also contains Jenifer Lewis (Black-ish) as Margeline, a beauty shop owner and also the nearest thing Regina needs to some buddy; Treat Williams as Carl, the owner of {} ’s general shop; Josh Segarra (Arrow) as a warrior who directs town’s pushback from Regina; Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico) as Felicity, an angel in coaching; Mary Lane Haskell (Hearstrings) since the warrior ’s {} , Jenna, a voice of calm from town; Matthew Johnson (American Idol) as Mackas well as the person who owns the neighborhood pub; along with Selah Kimbro (Hidden Statistics ) Jones as Violet, Mack’s kid.

Parton’s Sandollar Productions and Sam Haskell’s Magnolia Hill Productions create the film in affiliation with Warner Bros.. TV (who {} Heartstrings). Parton, Haskell, author Maria Schlatter and Allen would be the executive producers.
